That would be fun. Steve was also wondering if anyone from 1972 was interested in a get-together in Winnipeg the summer of 2002. Any takers?

We have our own business - a store called The One Stoppe Shoppe. Nice to link up with all of you. Feel free to email me.

We moved to Thompson on December 23 1961, and around this time each year I experience fond memories of the people that I got to know during the next seven years. In 1968 we moved back to Ottawa, and as yet have not managed to return. However, perhaps @ RDPC's 50th anniversay I can coordinate a visit that would also include some other members of our family. In the mean time it will be good to keep in touch via your web site.

Attended RDPC from Grade 7 (the construction site!) through Grade 10. Had I stayed in Thompson, I would have graduated with the 1972 folks. Did I see/hear rumours of a 40th anniversary reunion in 2002? Any details would be greatly appreciated. I invite all RDPC friends to drop me a line, call or stop by.

My brother Hans is living here as well enjoying the warm climate. In my travels I have run into several of the Morphopulus kids from LA to Florida and ran into Bruce Lyons in Florida a few years ago. Annndd, that's how I found out that we had this page. Sooooo, here we are - Class of '72 and now it's time for our thirty year reunion. Yup, this year...OMG! Looks like we may be inviting you to Thompson for the Thanksgiving weekend 2002. Hope you can make it. There is a meeting tomorrow night, so will keep you posted. Never thought I'd be here for 40 years, but hey, who knew? I've visited with Nancy Allen, Howie Parlow and Diana Mardell in the past six months, and would love to hear from anyone who remembers. Times are still good here, although there have been lots of changes. Hope to talk to you soon.....

It was nice of Glen Ansine to recall all the graduates of 72 for the reunion which I had heard
about but could not attend. I am eager to know when the next reunion for our
class may be (2002?). I was only in Thompson for the 1 school year 71-72
which happened to be my graduation year. Glen noted that my ambitions were
military, but they were soft ambitions. I graduated from Royal Military
College in 1976 with a degree in Math&Physics and got into computer systems
on military projects and left the Military in 1983. I stayed in Areospace
but moved to the SPace side and I am now the Project Engineer for the Mobile
Servicing System Simulator which we use to train Astronauts and Cosmonauts
to operate Canadian supplied Space Station robotic systems. This is at the
Canadian Space Agency in St Hubert Quebec just south of Montreal, go figure.
I recently discovered that Ernst Hellrung is in Montreal and talked to him a
bit, I hope to get together with him soon for a mini "Quebec Capter" RD
Parker alumni reunion...
I have good memories of the gang and would be heppy to hear from anyone. I
have family in Winnipeg and so make it to that neck of the woods
ocassionally and I have chatted with Brian Dagg once in a while as well.
I've learned of the professional and personal accomplishments of other old

Oct.25, 2001 What a great find! The photos from Mr. Downie
are amazing since I was in his class and also went to elementary school with many of the students in that Grade 7 class. (Who remembers Mrs. Alderson and Juniper School?) I also fondly remember the year of split shift classes when I
had to get up at 6:00 am and walk to school thru the woods
from Riverside Dr. The coldest morning was -52 F. Great memories of the open-concept school, card games in the
multi-purpose room, working on the yearbook committee,
camera club, (I'm still clicking away after 25 yrs. in the
business), hanging in school with Brian C., Brian D.,
Keith N., and Tom L. Keep up the great work
on the web site and I'll look for some old photos. Thanks,

after we were both married. I remember Mr. Hillyer...he gave me an F in music...I was way
too shy to participate in solos. I had some real issues in the last couple of years of
school...some how I graduated.....thanks to the teachers. Did alot of things I regret but
can't undo.... I am a wife, mother and grandmother now...turned 55 this year...wow where

I'm here in Toronto, working as a news editor at the Toronto Sun. (I've been through the Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, London Free Press, Red Deer Advocate and Peking Review in the past 20 years.) My sister Susan, now Susan Wilding, has been in Sault Ste. Marie for twenty years, while Robin is the golf pro at the Quarry Oaks club outside Steinbach. Hey, class of '68, if you're holding a reunion in Winnipeg next year you may want to include a half-day of golfing in it. Give Robin a call. Personally, I would love to hear from any former grads (or semi-grads) who share my passion for climbing. Our company gives us a sabbatical every 10 years (it's three months off with pay) and I'm in the midst of planning, yes, you guessed it, three months of climbing.
[2nd message] Just back from our 25th reunion in Thompson. What a lot of fun! It was great seeing people, many of whom hadn't seen one another for 25 years. Susan Morgan, Norma Howitt, Judy Burnett and Steve Ashton deserve a big thanks for the huge amount of work done getting this together.
July 2000Those browsing the net looking for former Thompson turkeys may want to check out the Thompson City Hall guestbook at:

Attended our 25th reunion of the Grade 12 class in June, 1997! It was a fabulous time -- many thanks go out to the organizers! Both Terry and I had a terrific time, and although most of the former students who attended the reunion were not close friends while I was in school, it was nice to get to know them now, as we share common experiences and interests in our adult lives! Looking forward to the 30th year reunion!

Greetings to all former RDPC'ers! I grew up in
Thompson from 1960 til I left for the U of M in
1972. I attended RDPC from grade 7 to 12 ('69-'72).
The newer part of the school (with the forum, theatre,
resource centre and multi-purpose room,)
was just being built when we started
Grade 10 in the fall of '69.
To accomodate the construction, we all had go to class
in split shifts. Half the year our classes ran
from 7:30 AM-12:30PM, and the other half, we started
at 1PM and went til 6PM amid construction workers and
the sound of jackhammers echoing in the hallways.
I also attended the 25th reunion of the Class of 1972
and let me tell you, it was a GREAT experience.
I encourage everyone if at all possible to do the same!
(Big Hint to the Class of '68!!)
It was so neat seeing my old classmates again
(no pun intended, but we're all about 43 now :))
and coming to realize that we all shared a unique
experience.
The Class of '72 had a tour of RDPC but she's only a shadow
of her former self now, the "open area" concept has been
walled into so many smaller areas that most
of us were completely lost in the maze.
But it was terrific to see some of our former teachers
who still live and work in Thompson, some at the old
alma mater including Guy Hanson (Does Anybody else remember
the day he and all the male teachers wore kilts
to school? How about the day he rode his toboggan into
a tree at the old ski hill and broke his leg?)
T'was also great to see Vic Loewen (biology), Jim McIvor (Phys.Ed), Glen Ansine, our former history teacher, now
the principal, and Mrs. McKelvey (she taught me to type,
bless her soul! Came in *very* handy when I went into journalism.)
I'd love to hear from any of my former classmates who
didn't make it to the reunion :) And those whose email
addresses I didn't get while there!

Life just flies by. I am working in the Mental Health field and have completed my BA in Conflict Resolution Studies (I'm on the 25 year plan).
I'd love to hear from any former class mates. Until then, take care.

I now live in Calgary after previous visits to Regina, Saskatoon, and Toronto. I'm still in construction only now I'm the supervisor. I married Susan Miller in Thompson but everyone said it wouldn't last and they were right. I met my second wife in Toronto and got remarried in 95.
