I have heard of the recent reunion in Winnipeg,unfortunately I wasn't able to attend. I attended a reunion in Thompson in the 80's That was great and it was so good to see familiar faces. My entire family lives in Winnipeg now, some of you may remember my brothers or sisters. My sister Joyce told me where to locate this website and I recently spent a few days with my old friend Wendy Townend, we spent time reminiscing and also visiting with Chris Wilcox. I would be interested in communicating with anyone from the old RDParker days.

Hi! My name is Mike Burton. Although I never attended RDPC, my older brother Rick did. He also attended the 40th Anniversary a few years ago & raved about it. Rick & I were also there the first week of October of this year for my father's (Bill) funeral. My father was a long time resident of Thompson, having moved there in '62. Anyway, Rick & an old friend of his "Sidney McKay" brought me for a tour of the town. Needless to say, it brought back some old memories when we visited the places were I used to live & play ("Ontario Apts", "303 Juniper Drive", "Beaver Cresent"). I lived in Thompson from about 1963 to 66 & was about 8 or 9 when I moved away. So, had I stayed I would have graduated in '74 or '75. I also attended 3 different public schools while I was there. No. 1, 2 & 3 Schools? There's only one friend's name that I remember exactly & that is Dale Hebert. He was my best friend when we lived in the Ontario Apts & probably the whole time I lived there. When I lived on Juniper, there was a little dark haired girl who lived across the street & we'd jump up & down on the hood of an old car (I think in her back yard) & sing the Beatles "She Loves You Yeah....." I think her first name was Debbie...?? I believe she also had a little play house in her back yard. Also across the street on Juniper was a reddish haired kid, Tim or Tom Wood(s)??? I may have chased him with a hammer one time when we were building a camp in my back yard. Sorry about that where ever you are. I think he also had a younger brother. Anyway I was just wondering if there's a website or some place on your site where former residents can get in touch with other former residents or existing residents to exchange stories or memories etc... Your time & help is greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone....
...seeing some of the names in here sure does bring back some memories, of r.d.p.c. and of course hanging out at the rec. centre and tennis courts ( not EVER during school hours of course..)
...i'm sorry to have missed the reunion in wpg. in july, my ( little sister ) sherrie did make it,gave me an up-date on everything and everyone she spoke with, sounds like it was wonderful!
...living in the west is great, with my 2 gorgeous daughters, we still do get back up to thompson every now and then to visit my sister connie ( tennison) , ( who just has not been able to tear herself away from those minus 30 winters...!)
...someone deserves great credit on putting this site together...it's great!

Terrific website! Lots of fun! I am living on beautiful Vancouver Island - have since graduating from U of M (1979). Managed to complete my degree in Medical Rehabilitation, Occupational Therapy. Presently working part time and have a keen interest in working with frail elderly - particular interest in dementia care. Was back to Thompson in 1985 but unfortunately have not been again. My brothers, Craig and Stuart continue to live in Thompson with their families - somehow they always come west to visit (warm weather, no BUGS). My mom (also Barb Duncan) and Charlie Toth live on the Island as well - in Nanaimo (the bathtub capital of the WORLD!!). I am married (late bloomer) and have two absolutely gorgeous children, Mark - age 11 and Christie - age 6. Who would have ever thunk it! Terrific to read everyone's note and notes from previous RDPC teachers (notice I said "previous" and did not say "old"). Well, enuf chatter - drop a line or drop in if on the Island. Bye.

Anyway ... can't say I've missed Thompson but I've missed my buddies (I've misssed the Northern Lites, the Midnight Sun in summer, and the Thompson Turkeys too!)
I've kept in touch with some - Sherry in Winnipeg, Lori in Kirkland Lake, Connie in BC and it was great to see 'where in the world' some of you were!
I am tho seeking two people - Kerry Peters and Michel Royer. I don't think they went to highschool in Thompson but for sure they went to elementary school in Thompson. Anybody know them?

Great site, strange to see names you haven't seen in so long. Does anyone know where Darlene Norquay is now? Last time in thompson was about 1980, staying with Lori Heis, and working for the gov. spotting for forest fires. I have seen Lori in Edmonton from time to time. Love to hear from people. August 16, 2001 - Hello everyone! This is great to see - people I went to school with so long ago. I've been living in Calgary since 1977 - working for an oil and gas company. I tend to travel quite abit (since I'm single, it makes it easy) - always some new place that I find interesting. Would love to travel up to Thompson for a reunion - has anyone thought of trying to put together a 'Thompson' reunion? Maybe hitting quite a few years. I didn't graduate at RD Parker, but since I went to school in Thompson all my life, that should count. I'd be glad to help out.

Hi everyone: Wow! This is great to look back at the good old
days! I'll tell you a bit about myself. I'm a widow, have 2 grown children
and 2 small grandchildren. I am working for the government in Children's
Services and also facilitate personal development courses. I am going to
Kenya in January to volunteer for TEMAK (Teenage Mothers Association of
Kenya) - teaching life and job skills to young women who have been raped and
abused and gotten pregnant. I am also climbing Mt Kilimanjaro while I'm
there so am working hard at getting fit. I've taken a 1 yr leave of absence
from my job but won't be gone that long. I am also currently enrolled in
the Voluntary Sector Management Program at Grant McEwan Community College in
Edmonton and hope to find work in a non-profit organization or with CIDA,
UNICEF, Red Cross or other such organization in the near future. I have a
great life and am very happy. Hope to hear from some of you soon. Cheers!

I didn't graduate from RDPC as we moved to Thunder Bay the year before but I still think of Thompson as my hometown and stay in touch with a few folks. I'm married to Terry Crew and we have twin boys age 9. We live in Georgetown (north of Mississauga) and I work in HR at DuPont. I was recently introduced to the Heritage North site and really enjoyed looking at all the old pics - recognize many of them.
