I guess I managed to miss all the reunions. My husband, Peter and I live
in Calgary. I have lived here for 15 years now. I am a Project Manager
in the software industry.
Hey Marvel, if you are still in Fernie, I'll look you up on our next ski
trip. I thought I saw Jackie Bayne downtown Calgary a few weeks back,
but thought it must be someone that just looked like her, who knows...

Hello friends! I attended school in Thompson from grade 1 to 8. For those of you who don't remember me, I was probably the only Oriental kid in Riverside elementary besides my sister. My father, Bill, was the first Dentist in Thompson. Chances are if you got any dental work done in Thompson from 1962-1975 either my Dad or one of his associates did it for you. We left Thompson in 1975 and moved to Red Deer, Alberta. I still consider Thompson "home" and have a lot of fond memories of my time there. I am now living in Calgary, and yes, I am a dentist. Other Thompsonites who live here that I know of include Jose Labelle, Robin Levasseur, Michael Mackasey, and Vern Hambley (who told me about this website).

Great Web site. I never graduated from R.D.P.C. (it's hard
to graduate when you're never in class) but I did achieve my grade 12
through the U of Winnipeg Collegiate. I've been living in Fernie B.C.
with my husband Mike McCann for the past 13 years. After many years
working in the ski industry we bought the Fernie Hotel three years ago.
We also spend as much time as possible enjoying the B.C. outdoors, i.e.
skiing and camping. The ski runs in Fernie are a lot longer and a lot
warmer than at Mystery Mountain where I began skiing. Donny Johnson,
Stuart Wood and Fay Loftus are a few names I remember on those frozen
slopes. I still keep in touch with Fay. It's been many years since
I've been to Thompson but I'm hoping to go this June to stay with my
good friend Debbie Doucet while the Class of 79 is having their reunion.
Would love to hear from any old friends.

Hello everyone. I lived in Thompson until Grade 6 and attended at Westwood
Elementary. I didn't attend RD Parker, but would have graduated with the 1979
class. I moved to Kamloops, BC in 1973/74. My family knew the Laszlo's and
Skorekoes because of all of the snowmobiling. I still keep in touch with
Fran Neuman and she keeps me posted on what is going on. I would love to
come and visit Thompson again and see all of the changes. If anyone wants to

I called my old school buddy Louise Bray last night to wish her a happy birthday, and she told me about this page! I ran into Louise when I went back to Thompson last Feb (99). She told me about the reunion, and I wanted to go so badly, but it was just at a bad time of year for us. I am married with two daughters.. Renee 17 and Megan 12. We have a large elk ranch in Southeastern Saskatchewan, so last June I was busy bottlefeeding orphaned elk calves! I was so happy to find this page and see some familiar names. I plan on spending a good part of today writing emails, and getting back in touch with some old friends. Please feel free to drop me a line and let me know how things are going.

Although I didn't graduate at RDPC, I have many great memories of my years in Thompson. I moved to Portage la Prairie in Grade 10 and attended the University of Saskatchewan from 1979-82. Hello to all fellow RD Parker people. Really enjoyed finding this web site.
I went to RD Parker and then worked for the District for 10 years. Left in 1989 to start having babies and have since had four. Kevin 9, Laurene 7 1/2, Rebecca 6, and Maria almost 3. I married Stewart Mitchell (1975 graduate).
He works in Prince Albert at Weyerhaueser and has been here for 4 years. I'm home and keeping busy with the kids, 2 dogs, and 3 cats and a large country home. Love it.
Have been back to Thompson in 1997 for a 25th Anniversary for Marylynn and Ernie Safronetz (nee Smith) She's still a teacher there. I found lots of changes even though I had just moved in 1994.
I'd like to hear from former students.
Heard rumours that there might be a 20th reunion for us 1979'ers. If anyone has information, please let me know.

Hello! Craig Sharpe was nice enough to make sure I had a 20 year invite. It was impossible for me to make it. Although my academic life at RDPC was a little unusual, I still enjoyed it, especially in retrospect. I ended up attending 8 different high schools and UVIC. I graduated in 1999 upon discovering that I had accumulated enough credits and didn`t know for 20 years.I would be pleased to attend any future gathering. I would also like to hear from anybody from the old days.

March 20, 2005 - It's been interesting reading the memories of others. I enjoyed my 3 years of teaching at RDPC as a "fresh out of university grad". There was so much to learn and so many wonderful people that helped me along the way. I taught Physical Education and Social Studies - exactly what I had interned in at RDPC in 75-76. My husband, son and I moved to Saskatchewan in 1981. A daughter joined our family and I worked terms and substituting for many years as we raised our family. We have been in Meadow Lake for 14 years, the majority of which I have taught at Jonas Samson Junior High. I am currently the principal and teaching Grade 7 Health. I look forward to hearing from or reading about others from RDPC.

Please accept my apologies for all of the disruptions that Marc Boiteau, Keith White and Donny Hudson caused over those difficult secondary years. I, on the other hand, through my dedication to the curriculum and outstanding behavior have managed to stay out of jail.
 Update Fall 2002: I thought it would fitting to let you know of a chance RDPC reunion that
took place as a result of your great web site. An old classmate and friend
Brian Wabie contacted me through my posting on the website. We exchanged a
couple of literary correspondences and caught up with what's been happening
in our respective lives as we have not spoken or seen each other in over 20
years. While attending a David Bowie Concert in Toronto, I spotted a
gentleman that resembled the features of Brian ( he was a great goaltender
by the way!) and took a chance and called out his name - sure enough it was
him. We spent the next 6 hours reminiscing and having a great time including
meeting his wonderful wife Linda. Unfortunately, I can't remember any of it.
But I do have a picture to share of the 2 of us in the hot Toronto sun and I
can also tell you that Bowie was excellent!
