Approximately 200 students took part in the R.D Parker Terry Fox Walk last Thursday September 24. Terry Fox was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma (bone cancer) in his right leg in 1977 and had his right leg amputated six inches above the knee. Terry decided to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. His journey was called the Marathon of Hope. Terry's Marathon took place in 1980. By February 1, 1981, the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope fund totalled $24.17 million. Terry lost his battle to cancer in June 1981. We would like to thank all the participants who took part in the R.D Parker Terry Fox Walk.
