COVID-19 Communication 2020-10-23

Hello, Tansi, Bonjour

As many of you know starting Monday Oct. 26, 2020 the School District of Mystery Lake will be moving into the restricted level (orange) for the Covid-19 pandemic.  The Manitoba Government announced this would continue for a minimum of 2 weeks.

There are changes that will happen at schools in the district to increase safety for all our students and staff.  Some of the bigger changes will be:

  • Some classes will be divided to accommodate a minimum of 2-meter distancing while others will be moved into different areas throughout the school.
  • Entrances and exits will change for some classes.
  • Indoor choir and the use of wind instruments are not permitted.
  • All field trips must be postponed or cancelled
  • Teachers and staff who move across cohorts of students, including substitute teachers, are required to wear medical masks.  Medical-grade disposable masks have been issued to all schools.  N95 masks are not required.
  • Lunch programs will be suspended until further notice.

We wanted to give you information regarding the major changes currently happening.  Individual schools will be communicating school specific details to their parents/guardians & students.
